I can’t believe it’s almost October and for artists that means it’s time to ready their pens and ink brushes! It is my favorite part about October (besides my birthday of-course!). To me, Inktober is about being consistent and getting better through practice. For those who are not familiar with Inktober, It is a drawing challenge to help artists test and improve their inking skills. Every October, talented and creative artists from all over the world participate in Inktober by doing one ink drawing a day. US based illustrator Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 to improve his inking skills. It has since grown into an annual worldwide challenge.
If you don’t know how to draw, don’t worry! “Anyone can do InkTober, just pick up a pen and start drawing.” The Inktober rules are simple: each day in October, make a drawing in ink and share it online using the hashtag #Inktober.
