Pakistan Baseball team will participate in the 29th BFA Asian Baseball Championship with the resolve to finish at the top to earn a spot in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The continental event will be staged in Chinese Taipei from October 14 to 20, this year.
“The Championship will also serve as a qualification event for Olympic Games. Hence, we’ll go in it with the determination to finish at the top. If we qualify for Olympics then it will be our first ever participation in the world’s prestigious sports event,” President of Pakistan Federation Baseball, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah
Pakistan won Asian Baseball Championship in 2010 (C level) where as in 2009 was runner-up.
Pakistan’s baseball team has an honor to bag Asian Baseball Cup trophy in the following years 2006, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015. Moreover the team was runner-up in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2009, 2017.
The greatest win was against Mongolia in Sept. 2014 in which Pakistan successful scored 25 baskets where as the Mongolian team failed to score a singe basket against the Pakistani team.
